Abstract

2-Chloropropionitrile (2-CPN) is a flammable, colorless liquid with an unpleasant odor. This chemical is primarily used in pharmaceutics and polymer production. In industries, occupational exposure by inhalation and skin contact is possible. This substance is extremely dangerous and can easily permeate the skin, causing systemic cyanide poisoning. A shortage of oxygen to the body's cells, particularly the brain and heart cells, is the cause of death. © 2024 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
