An Extremely Rare Case Report of Uterine Cavernous Hemangioma in Pregnancy Publisher

Abstract

Uterine hemangioma (UH) in pregnancy is a very rare and benign lesion with only 19 reported cases so far. Although UH in pregnancy is typically asymptomatic and found accidentally in ultrasounds of this period, it is significant due to its potential to cause severe postpartum hemorrhage. A case of uterine cavernous hemangioma in pregnancy, in a 35-year-old Iranian primiparous woman with a history of heart disease and abnormal myometrial ultrasound appearance, who was referred to Imam Khomeini Level 3 Hospital in Tehran at 37 weeks of gestation. Due to her heart condition, she scheduled for delivery at 38 weeks via normal vaginal delivery. However, due to the labor arrest and stopping in the second stage, the patient underwent an emergency cesarean section. Copyright © 2026 Sedigheh Borna et al.
