Abstract

Amdro, the common name of Hydramethylnon, is an insecticide often used to control ants, crickets, roaches, and termites. Amdro is particularly dangerous when taken since it acts as a stomach toxicant with a delayed effect. Light exposure causes Amdro quickly degrades in surface water. Amdro degrades in 14-25days due to a specific fungus; however, it persists in soil for 383days. The acute toxicity of Amdro has been demonstrated to be minimal; nevertheless, it may be carcinogenic to humans. Acute oral exposure to Amdro is mildly harmful to generally non-toxic to birds. © 2024 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
