Abstract

Lyme disease is a worldwide challenge caused by a tick-borne vector, Borrelia burgdorferi. Its main clinical manifestations are arthritis and neurological disorders. Numerous antibiotics, including doxycycline, amoxicillin, cefuroxime, ceftriaxone, daptomycin, carbomycin, cefoperazone, vancomycin, and clofazimine, have shown enough capacity to cure patients. They can prevent Lyme infection in some specific situations, as well. Anyway, checking body skins to find ticked sites at the soonest time is still the best way to prevent disease. © 2024 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
