Abstract

Eugenol (CAS number: 97-53-0), a naturally occurring aromatic compound, is present mainly in essential oils. It has been used in variety of industries, including pharmaceutical, food, cosmetics, and agriculture; it has versatile pharmacological actions on almost all systems and is classified as carcinogenic risk to humans as Group 3: not classifiable as to its carcinogenicity to humans. © 2024 Elsevier Inc.
