Abstract

Anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) is a non-contact method analogous to ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) for the evaluation of the anterior segment structure with a higher resolution that uses infrared instead of ultrasound. In this chapter, we discuss the available types of AS-OCT. Then, we continue with the normal anterior segment structure that includes the cornea and an angle assessment. Corneal abnormalities, post refractive surgery conditions, post ultraviolet exposure treatment (UVX), anterior segment changes after cataract surgery, tips after corneal transplantation, intracorneal rings, the Kamra with conjunctival abnormalities, corneal thickness and epithelial thickness map and a short discussion about anterior segment OCT-A (angiography are among the subjects that we discuss extensively with multiple examples and images). © The Editor(s) (if applicable) and The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2022.
