Abstract

Micronutrients comprise intricate biological actions where the ability of foods to contribute to health has been determined. Because of huge number of crucial nutrients including chemical compounds, various cell kinds, nature, and widespread microbiological features in terms of quantity and activity associated with enormous genetic and epigenetic variations, nutrition is highly complicated. An emerging science, nutrigenomics, indicates a fresh approach of working with nutrition, the hunt to realize the mutual effects of micronutrients and genome, transcriptome, and metabolome. Of note, recently, transcriptomic approaches granted many precious innovative insights into diet-gene interactions and how the organism responds to these interferences for the development of novel biomarkers of nutritional status. Transcriptomic studies are implemented to show how diet induces alterations in gene expression. There is a growing collaboration among researchers, involving nutrition field, biology, medicine, and genomics, however, the scope for human nutritional intervention studies, which utilize transcriptomic analysis of available tissues, emerges as incredibly promising. © 2015 by John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
