Abstract

Nepeta kotschyi var. persica (Boiss.) Jamzad is a member of the Lamiaceae family. Besides the many bioactive secondary metabolites, it has significant biological properties. However, the phytochemical profile of this species has yet to be comprehensively studied. Here, the ethyl acetate and methanol fractions of the hydroalcoholic extract (MeOH: 70%) of the plant’s aerial parts were subjected to phytochemical examination. Accordingly, 1,5,9-epideoxyloganic acid (1), luteolin (2), caffeic acid (3), rosmarinic acid (4), luteolin 7-O-glucoside (5), and nepetalinic acid (2-(1-carboxyethyl)-5-methylcyclopentane-1-carboxylic acid) (6) were isolated and characterized using NMR spectroscopy and specific rotation measurements. © 2026, MS-Editions.
