Abstract

Tetramethylthiuram disulfide, also called thiram, is an organosulfur compound. It is utilized as an ectoparasiticide, bactericide, and fungicide for preventing diseases in crops and seeds. The extensive use of thiram has raised concern about human health, particularly among agricultural workers who are frequently exposed to a high level of pesticides. This entry deals with toxic mechanisms of thiram in more detail at the molecular level. The exploration will be facilitated by elucidating thiram's toxicity mechanisms on different organs. © 2024 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
