Abstract

Donor-acceptor cyclopropanes are known as a versatile carbon-based building block in organic synthesis. Due to their unique characteristics, 2-substituted d-A cyclopropanes easily undergo annulation and cycloaddition with diverse substrates for the construction of hetero-, and carbocyclic compounds. Ring-opening of d-A cyclopropanes in the presence of Lewis acids is one of the powerful tools for the synthesis of various acyclic and cyclic compounds. The current review highlights recent developments in the application of 2-substituted d-A cyclopropanes in organic transformations since 2015. © 2023 Elsevier B.V.
