Abstract

The primary purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between organizational climate and organizational performance by considering the mediator role of staff satisfaction. Study population included the whole nursing staff of treatment and teaching hospitals in Tabriz with 177 personnel. The sample size was 120 individuals, calculated by ratio categorical sampling and Morgan Table. Study tools consisted of a questionnaire whose validity was approved based on the assessment of a number of experienced lecturer and experts. Its reliability was measured after distributing 120 questionnaires and analyzing the collected data. The reliability was 0.961, indicating appropriateness. Data analysis was conducted by SPSS and Amos Graphics. Findings demonstrate that among organizational climate aspects, organizational encouragement has the highest positive relationship and significance with job satisfaction (β=0.422 and p<0.0001). Other aspects had also a positive relationship with job satisfaction but these relationships didn’t appear to be significant. The findings reveal that management encouragement does not have a positive relationship with job satisfaction. The relationship between job satisfactions and organizational performance was also positive and significant. Among other elements of organizational climate, organizational encouragement, determined by job satisfaction variant, had a positive and significant relationship with organizational performance as well. © 2019 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.
