Abstract

Acetophenone (Chemical Abstracts Service Registry Number 98-86-2) is used as a fragrance and food additive. Acetophenone is a liquid that crystallizes when exposed to cold temperatures. It's utilized in perfumery to give out an orange blossom flavor, as an olefin polymerization catalyst, and in organic synthesis, particularly as a photosensitizer. When acetophenone is used too much, either for a short time or for a long time, the main negative effects are neurological. © 2024 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
