Abstract

The utilization of zebrafish as a model organism in research on the Brain-Behavior Axis (BBA) has garnered significant attention in recent years. The research revealed a marked increase in zebrafish research over the past fourteen years, with the United States, China, and Brazil leading in publication output. Prominent institutions in this field include the University of Toronto, the university of California system, and the Centre National Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). The review identified pharmacological and genetic interventions as standard methodologies in these studies. It underscores the vital role of zebrafish models in behavioral and brain research while highlighting trends and opportunities for collaboration in this area. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
