Abstract

3-Phenacylideneoxindoles, as a subset of the oxindole family, constitute a unique molecular architecture, as they are present in a broad spectrum of natural products and bioactive molecules. 3-Phenacylideneoxindoles as a building block can construct diverse spiro heterocyclic compounds, as well as fused heterocycles. This review covers recent applications of 3-phenacylideneoxindoles in organic transformations from 2015 until the present. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd
