Abstract

A novel, simple, one-pot synthesis of 2,4-diaryl-9H-pyrido[2,3-b]indoles is described. Heating a mixture of chalcone, oxindole and ammonium acetate in the presence of potassium tert-butoxide under solvent-free conditions afforded the title compounds in good to excellent yields. © 2017 Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston 2017.
