Abstract

Background: Frontal lobe syndrome occurs when the prefrontal cortex is damaged, resulting in deficits in cognition, behavior, and emotional regulation. This study examines two atypical cases of severe frontal lobe injuries that resulted in a complex array of symptoms, including hypersexuality, aggression, apathy, and urinary incontinence. The study is notable for its long-term follow-up, recurrent cognitive assessments, neuroimaging (MTA score), and tailored pharmacological interventions. Case Presentation: In case 1, a 77-year-old male underwent a frontal lobectomy. In case 2, a 66-year-old male sustained several traumatic brain injuries. Both individuals improved with treatment. Conclusion: The results underscore the necessity of providing individualized treatment and monitoring for each individual with post-traumatic frontal lobe impairment. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
