Abstract

In the original published version of this article, the authors presented a study investigating the effect of transcendental meditation on the spiritual wellbeing of Type-2 diabetic amputees. The publisher has become aware that the protocol taught to the study's participants was not true transcendental meditation, as it was not delivered by a certified instructor in a standardised format. To make a clear distinction between transcendental meditation and the meditation employed in this study, all relevant references to “transcendental meditation” throughout the article text and figures have been replaced with “meditation”, as this more accurately describes the protocol used in the study. Additionally, the following part of the Introduction that was specific to transcendental meditation was removed. One of the meditation technique is transcendental meditation. The popularity of the transcendental meditation (TM) to other meditation techniques in its scientific basis and simplicity, and ultimately to the fact that, unlike other meditation techniques, human is not asked to change his/her way of lifestyle and belief [18]. Johnson and Chhatre stated that the Transcendental Meditation technique (TM) is a useful tool for strengthening immunity to viruses and described that TM produces a physiological state of restful alertness that is the opposite of stress [19, 20]. Moreover the “Materials and Methods” subheading in the original published version of this article was misspelled as “Martials and Methods”. This has now been corrected. The authors apologise for these mistakes. Both the HTML and PDF versions of the article have been updated to correct the errors. [Figure presented] © 2021
