Abstract

Urticaria is characterized by transient skin or mucosal swellings resulting from plasma leakage. Superficial dermal swellings are wheals, while deep swelling is termed angioedema. There are several recognized clinical patterns of urticaria. Mastocytosis represents a spectrum of clinical disorders which are characterized by tissue mast cell hyperplasia mainly localized to the skin. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2022.
