Abstract

During surgical operation the depth of anesthesia is a major issue. Because the effect of anesthetic drugs is on central nervous system (NCS), we can estimate it by using brain signals received from anesthetized patients and extracting their suitable features. EEG signals are dynamic and non-static. Wavelet transform, because of its unique features can be very useful in time-frequency analyze and it can extract suitable features. In this research, a new method is represented to estimate depth of anesthesia using wavelet transform and neural networks. © 2012 Praise Worthy Prize S.r.l. - All rights reserved.
