Abstract

Esophageal papilloma is a rare disorder that may cause hypopharyngeal symptoms. This patient was a 56-year-old man who presented with cough and choking symptoms. After the initial negative laryngoscopy, a fiberoptic endoscopy revealed a mass originating from the hypopharyngeal area, which was resected surgically and found to be non-malignant. © Journal compilation © 2009 Chinese Medical Association Shanghai Branch, Chinese Society of Gastroenterology and Blackwell Publishing Asia Pty Ltd.
