Abstract

MS-39® (Costruzione Strumenti Oftalmici, Florence, Italy) is a new non-contact corneal imaging generation with spectral-domain anterior segment OCT combined with Placido based topography that can detect different corneal layers separately with very high resolution especially a wide field epithelial thickness map which is very helpful in the diagnosis of subclinical forms of keratoconus in addition to topographic measurements of the anterior corneal surface. MS-39® offers a more comprehensive assessment of the cornea by providing a wide range of anterior segment measurements from an epithelium thickness map to the crystalline lens in a wide diameter. In addition to the anterior surface measurement that can be done with Sirius, it can produce corneal elevation data for the whole anterior segment. It seems that MS-39® is an emerging modality for corneal imaging, solving many diagnostic corneal problems in near future. The main purpose of this chapter is to introduce the diagnostic ability of this device in corneal disease and evaluate the interesting and practical cases. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2021.
