Abstract

In this chapter, we explore and compare different techniques used in corneal cross-linking procedures. Corneal cross-linking is a treatment method employed to strengthen the cornea in patients with keratoconus and corneal ectasia. The conventional approach involves the application of riboflavin drops followed by exposure to ultraviolet light. However, advancements in the field have led to the development of accelerated and customized techniques, which offer potential benefits in terms of treatment efficiency and personalized patient care. This chapter describes these three approaches, highlighting their similarities, differences, and potential clinical implications.
