Abstract

DNA Phosphoramidites are utilized in the preferred approach for industrial DNA synthesis. It is currently the exclusive economically feasible chemistry method capable of producing the high quantity of DNA. A phosphoramidite molecule has a phosphite group rather than the usual phosphate in nucleotides, as well as four distinct protecting groups. These protecting groups provide a stable protection but can be readily eliminated when needed. This enables DNA scientists to expose only the reactive centers required to generate a DNA-like molecule, allowing for precise control over synthesis chemistry. According to experimental studies, these structures were not toxic in short- or long-term. However, there is inadequate evidence on human toxic effects. © 2024 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
