Abstract

Nowadays, there is a growing demand for alternative ways to access medical care to solve healthcare problems. Electronic information and telecommunication technologies, for instance, telemedicine, could be a solution to address these problems. This chapter explores telemedicine’s background and definition, followed by some of its drawbacks and issues. Finally, telemedicine’s future perspective as a new frontier in providing a quality health service will be discussed. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2022.
