Abstract

The pericardium has two layers: visceral and parietal. Pericardial diseases are common in cancer Cancer patients, which can be caused by underlying cancer or cancer treatments (e.g. chemotherapy, radiation Radiation therapy, and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT)). The most common pericardial diseases are pericardial effusion Pericardial effusion, pericarditis and constrictive pericarditis Pericarditis and constrictive pericarditis. In this chapter, we examine pericardial diseases in patients who underwent Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) (Pieri et al., in Eur Heart J Case Rep, 2020; Hoit, in Cardiol Clin 35:481-490, 2017). © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
