Abstract

Splenosis, autotransplantation of splenic tissue usually after splenic injury, is a rare manifestation. Following trauma, if the splenic capsule is disrupted, splenic tissue may be seeded on the peritoneum. Successful implantation of splenic cells and their subsequent growth produce splenic nodules containing splenic cells and tissues.
