Abstract

In this chapter, some aspects of developmental stuttering among monolingual and bilingual Persian-speaking populations living in Iran are reviewed. Prevalence, whether stuttering is associated with linguistic factors, and its symptoms in Persian language are discussed. Bilingualism prevails in some regions of Iran. Thus, data from both monolingual and bilingual populations with Persian as the national language are considered. © 2011 Peter Howell, John Van Borsel and the authors of individual chapters.
