Abstract

Cyclosporin A (CyA) is a cyclic peptide immunosuppresive agent which selectively prevents dif Department of Pharmaceuticsferentiation and proliferation of T-cytotoxic lymphocytes that are the main cause of the rejection of organ transplantation. Unlike other immunosuppressants hindering the patient's ability to combat infection, CyA is an important immunosuppresive drug used in organ and marrow transplantations. The production of CyA is accomplished by fungi imperfect Tolypocladium inflatum (DSM 915) and submerged fermentation. Mutation by chemical and physical methods had been applied to increase the biosynthesis of CyA. In this study, mutation was carried out by ultraviolet radiation (UV) and auxotroph dependent on α-aminobutyric acid was prepared, which changed cell's metabolism and increased. The biosynthesis of CyA. The auxotrophs used in the fermentation process showed higher production of CyA.
