Abstract

Identification of uncommon clinical features of herpes simplex virus encephalitis (HSVE) worth noting. Vertigo has been rarely reported as a symptom of encephalitis due to Herpesviridae. However, no case had vertigo as the only neurologic presentation at the onset of the disease. Hereby, a patient with vertigo as the first neurologic symptom of HSVE is described and possible pathophysiological mechanisms are explained. © 2023 Advanced Biomedical Research | Published by Wolters Kluwer - Medknow.
