Abstract

The integration of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) into the field of healthcare is creating a profound breakthrough in healthcare delivery, diagnostics, and personalized treatment. ML and AI algorithms evaluate large amounts of medical data, helping medical professionals make precise diagnoses and treatment plans. With the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) algorithms, the field of drug discovery is undergoing a paradigm shift. Additionally, by predicting possible side effects, improving drug formulations, and helping in the design of clinical trials, AI speeds up the drug development process. Huge genomic data are evaluated by ML models to find genetic variations, predict disease risk, and stratify patient populations. The incorporation of AI helps in terpret complicated associations within biological systems, revealing complex links between genes, proteins, and pathways, consequently facilitating a better understanding of disease causes. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
