Abstract

Sirius® ( Costruzione Strumenti Oftalmici, Florence, Italy) is a non-contact diagnostic device that assesses the anterior segment accurately with different topographic and tomographic indices. Sirius® is a corneal tomographer with both Scheimpflug and Placido systems which provides different maps including anterior and posterior sagital and tangential corneal curvatures, elevation maps, anterior and posterior refractive power maps, keratoconus screening maps, corneal wavefront analysis, tear film evaluation, corneal pupillography, cataract summary, glaucoma summary and anterior chamber analysis, contact lens fitting and guide for intrastromal corneal ring implantation for diagnosis and treatments of keratoconus, especially for detection of early forms of keratoconus before refractive surgery with its artificial intelligence-based classifier, Phoenix. The main purpose of this chapter is to introduce the diagnostic parameters of this Placido/Scheimpflug tomographer and to evaluate interesting and practical cases and compare the diagnostic ability of Sirius indices with other common imaging devices. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2021.
