Abstract

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are an outstanding example of a nanomaterial employed as a catalyst in catalysis, separation, sorption, and disinfection processes. Engineers, scientists, and researchers have focused on CNTs because they can absorb most organic molecules from water. CNT membranes can function as high-flow desalination membranes, in contrast to reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, and ultrafiltration membranes. For biosensors, CNTs offer a comparatively safer electrode solution. The essay is of the utmost importance for the researchers and engineers who employed water refinement technologies to end the water issue in the forthcoming. The use of CNTs in water purification is summarized in this review. © 2024 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
