Abstract

Conjugated redox polymers are a groundbreaking class of conductive materials with vast potential in scientific and technological fields. These polymers can undergo electrochemical changes, enabling them to adapt their optical, magnetic, and mechanical properties, essential for developing advanced smart materials. Their electroactivity is crucial for energy conversion devices, and their unique structures, characterized by alternating single and double bonds, enhance their functionality. Derived from unsaturated alkenes or heterocyclic compounds through processes like dimerization, these polymers are also compatible with biological tissues, making them ideal for biomedical applications and energy storage solutions. This chapter explores their synthesis, characterization, and diverse applications, highlighting their transformative impact on medicine and energy technologies and showcasing their potential to drive a smarter, more efficient future. © 2026 Narendra Pal Singh Chauhan.
