Abstract

Abstract: Mercaptopurine and mercaptopurine/calixarene complex, undergoes solvatochromic phenomenon due to their aromatic rings. Their solvatochromic behaviors in 20 protic and aprotic solvents were investigated, and results compared to those of 2,6-diphenyl-4-(2,4,6-triphenyl-l-pyridinio)-l-phenolate, (RB). Also solvatochromic properties on mercaptopurine solubility values were evaluated in pure and binary mixtures using orginlab software. Kamlet and Taft parameters were obtained based on UV–Vis absorption. The spectral changes of mercaptopurine were interpreted in terms of specific and nonspecific dye–solvent interactions. The preferential solvation of mercaptopurine in the binary mixture was investigated using the method of Rosses and bush. © 2022, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
