Abstract

Eliminates the use of standard sizes common in the market. This research aims to design, simulate, and analyze custom dental implants using patient jaw images to make implants using augmentation technology. One of the custom-designed implant features is applying appropriate force to the patient's jaw and the better connection of bone and implant. A case study is a 43-year-old man who needs a custom implant due to a deformed jaw. The custom implant designed in this study is a good option for replacing a patient's missing tooth because it puts the least amount of stress (compared to other designs) at the implant-bone graft site. The use of vertical grooves on the outer surface of the implant, the thread, and its conical shape play an important role in reducing the stress on the junction. Round-threaded threads that are not manufactured using conventional economic methods are the best type of thread for dental implants. Because this design is specific to incremental manufacturing technology, it is the most appropriate choice for better connecting the implant to the bone. Reducing the time of making dental implants and reducing human intervention in the treatment process with the help of implants are other benefits of using this methodology. © 2021 IEEE.
