Abstract

The steam-distilled oil from dried leaves of Salvia hydrangea DC. ex Benth. grown in Isfahan province (Iran) was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Thirteen components were characterized representing 93.8% of the total components detected. The major components of the leaf oil were 1,8-cineole (28.4%), caryophyllene oxide (l6.4%), α-pinene (14.6%) and β-pinene (14.2%). © 1999, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. All rights reserved.
