Abstract

The composition of the essential oils of leaves and fruits of Pinus eldarica Medw. was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. The main constituents of the leaf oil were germacrene D (26.6%), β-caryophyllene (17.1%), α-pinene (11.8%), α-pinene (7.9%), elemicin (4.3%) and α-humulene (4.2%). Major components of the fruit oil were β-caryophyllene (34.0%), α-pinene (16.3%), longifolene (10.5%), α-humulene (6.4%), ω-3-carene (6.3%) and β-pinene (3.8%). © 2005, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
