Abstract

Background and Objective: Introduction to Health and Food Safety compliance with all the principles which should in production, storage be, distribution and sale of food should be considered to obtain high quality, healthy food. As a matter of principle in the prevention of disease and the preservation of the environment is the contamination. The aim of this study was to investigate the attitudes of Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences Health branch students' about Food Safety in 2013. Materials and Methods: This study was a descriptive, cross-sectional, which was conducted in 1392. This study used a valid and reliable questionnaire composed of 40 questions, and the Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.7 was obtained. The population consisted of 326 students from the Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences were selected through stratified random sampling. The obtained data was analyzed by statistical softwareSPSS16. Results: The results showed that 8.55% percent has a good attitude, 30% moderate and 2.14% have a poor attitude regarding food safety was. Also, the results showed significant differences between the male and female students with no attitude. But there was a significant difference in different age groups and educational levels. Discussion and conclusions: In order that almost half of the students' attitudes were low on food safety and health training, therefore educational course and training is essential, especially for non-health field. © 2016, International Journal of Pharmacy and Technology.
