Abstract

Skin and its appendages make up the integumentary system. It is the largest organ of the body that constitutes about 15–20% of the body weight with a surface area less than 1.5 m2. In this chapter, anatomy and organization of the skin has been described. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2022.
