Abstract

This study analyzed the literature to identify the challenges of Clinical Information (CI) services. Qualitative content analysis of 29 articles led to identify four main categories including performance (educational and clinical); personal (attitude, psychological, skill, knowledge, and time); management; and technological challenges. Proper implementation of clinical informationist services and evaluation of their advantages to improve the quality of services requires understanding the challenges and barriers associated with these services. The results of the current study can help policymakers in the field of education, as well as employers and managers to improve the quality of clinical informationist services. © 2021 The Author(s).
