Abstract

Due to the high prevalence of metabolic diseases and the role of genetic factors in their susceptibility, the use of basic research in this field can be useful for screening, prevention, and treatment of metabolic disorders. Therefore, in the Immunogenetics group of Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Institute (EMRI), various studies have been conducted to investigate the relationship between genetic markers and the risk of monogenic and complex disorders such as diabetes, obesity, thyroid malignancies, and cardiovascular disease. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
