Abstract

Excessive use of apple in agriculture production cause the accumulation of toxic substances in food, water, ground and air and endangered the environment and human’s health. Monitoring of these substances is necessary in all agricultural products. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of peeling, washing and storing in refrigerator on reducing the Diazinon, Chlorpyrifos and Abamectin pesticide residue in apple. This is a cross-sectional study which have done in harvesting time of Mahabad’s apple orchards in 2015 and randomly collected 20 apple sample. Then the reducing process of Diazinon, Chlorpyrifos and Abamectin pesticide concentration, after peeling, washing and storing in 4°c have studied. Extraction and evaluation of pesticide which exist in samples have done by High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) device. Washing with drinking water for three minute, storing in refrigerator with 4°c for 48h and peeling cause the average reduction of 17%, 61% and 80% of Diazinon and Chlorpyrifos in apple respectively. Applying washing, storing in refrigerator and peeling or a combination of them have a noticeable effect on reducing the pesticide residue in apple and cause the increase of food hygiene and consumers health. © 2016, International Journal Of Pharmacy and Technology.
