Abstract

Breast cancer is still one of the substantial malignancies with high mortalities which early and accurate diagnosis is very decisive in providing long survival. Nuclear medicine lately introduced a novel way for evaluation of breast cancer in early and advanced stages. This method is based on sentinel lymph node scintigraphy which is more preferable over axillary lymphadenectomy, since it results in less postoperative morbidity. For this aim radiocolloids have superlative impress for detection of metastatic lymph nodes. In this short review we will try to introduce radiopharmaceuticals which play an important role in clinical application of BC lymphoscintigraphy. © 2023, Akademiai Kiado, Budapest, Hungary.
