Abstract

The Editor-in-Chief has retracted this article. After publication, concerns were raised regarding similarities between this article and the authors’ other article [1] that was submitted and published within a similar time frame. Further checks by the Publisher have found a number of similarities between the articles, as well as within the figures presented in this article. Specifically: The same GAPDH blots are presented throughout this article, as well as Figs. 11 and 12 of [1]. Figure 8 CREB and Fig. 9p-CREB blots appear highly similar. Figure 10 BDNF blot appears highly similar to Fig. 9 BDNF of [1]. Figure 11 Bax blot appears highly similar to Fig. 11 Bax of [1]. Figure 12 Bcl-2 blot appears highly similar to Fig. 12 Bcl-2 of [1]. Figure 13A1 and B1, and Fig. 15B3 images appear to overlap with different magnification. Figure 14B2 image appears highly similar to Fig. 15A3. Figure 15D3 and E3 images appear to overlap with different magnification. Figure 17A4 and B4, Fig. 18B5 and Fig. 19B6 images appear to overlap. Figure 17C4, G4 and H4 images appear to overlap with different magnification and rotation. Figure 18C5, F5, G5 and H5 images appear to overlap. Figure 21D1 and E1 images appear to overlap. A number of images in Figs. 21, 22 and 23 appear to overlap with those in Figs. 13, 14 and 15 of [1], respectively. The Editor-in-Chief therefore no longer has confidence in the presented data. None of the authors have responded to any correspondence from the editor or publisher about this retraction. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.
