Abstract

Helminth is another term for parasitic worm. There are many disorders caused by helminths, and hence, helminths are considered a challenge for medicine. Nanomedicine is the application of nanotechnology in the field of medicine. However, little research has been conducted on the impact of nanomedicine on helminths and little is known about this field. It has been shown that nanomedicine has the potential to improve the bioavailability and other pharmacokinetic features of the current treatments for helminths. In some cases, nanomedicine can be utilized as the treatment or for preventing or diagnosing these infections. This article aims to discuss the anthelminthic applications of some current nanomedicine innovations that were explored in few studies. © 2024 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
