Abstract

Risk assessment is known to be in close connection with exposure assessment and is usually a multi-step process. Exposure to components, in particular toxic agents, through ingestion, inhalation, and skin absorption necessitates the appliance of risk assessment. A complete and well-organized risk assessment, especially in the field of pharmacology and toxicology, measures the likelihood of the probable side effects induced by toxic components and tends to minimize the probability of the associated adverse effects. This is possible through risk calculation, minimizing exposure to toxic agents, and scientifically reporting the observations. Referencing the available accepted guidelines is always encouraged in toxicological studies. © 2024 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
