Abstract

Hydatid disease caused by Echinococcus granulosus and produce cysts in different organs and tissues. Heart hydatid disease is a rare Echinococcosis. Sincec the cyst grows very slowly the disease is diagnosed with delay. In this report the case discussed of a female interventricular septum hydatid cyst. It was removed surgically after diagnosis and she was unfortunately expired after surgery. According to probability of heart involvement in endemic areas, rapid diagnosis can decrease the pathogen city and mortality rate. © 2008, Isfahan University of Medical Sciences(IUMS).
