Abstract

Background and aim: In this review and meta-analysis study, we was compared two types of surface coatings (SLA and TPS) from the point of bleeding on probing (BOP), pocket depth (PD) bone loss (BL). Methods: MEDLINE, PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, ISI, google scholar were used as electronic databases to perform a systematic search for relevant articles published in the dental literature between2005 and 2019. A commercially available software program (Endnote X9) was used for electronic title management. Searches were performed with keywords, “Osseointegrated”, “Implants”,” large-grit, acid-etched OR SLA”,” titanium plasma spray OR TPS”, “bleeding on probing OR BOP” “pocket depth OR PD” “bone loss OR BL”. Results: In this systematic review and meta-analysis four patients were evaluated in this study. The review studies about Number of patients 94 patients were evaluated in this study with 48 mean of age. Successful therapy, defined as PD ≤5 mm, absence of bleeding/suppuration on probing, and no further bone loss, was found in 14.3% of the TPS and 58.3% of the SLA implants Conclusions: Level of bleeding on probing, pocket depth, bone loss in SLA group less than TPS group. © 2020, Advanced Scientific Research.
