Abstract

Gene therapy mentions the transfer of genetic agents into the tissue, cells, or whole organ, with subsequent expression of the transgene to treat cancers, inherited diseases, and viral infectious diseases. To have an effective gene therapy, the expansion of advanced and effective delivery systems capable of transfecting genes is an important factor. In this manner, the role of microfluidic devices is considered as a promising and strategic approach. In this chapter, we discuss the role of microfluidic devices in gene delivery and therapy systems. © 2021 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
