Abstract

With the advancement of genetic science and the development of its clinical applications, today the identification of genetics and its impact on the prevention and treatment of diseases has attracted the attention of researchers. Although attention to the role of genetics in some subbranches of the field of urology, such as urological cancers, is older and today has a more established position and subbranches of gynecological urology and functional urology are no exception, and in recent years, several studies examined the effect of genetics on diseases in this area, including symptoms of the lower urinary tract symptoms, that is comprised of urinary incontinence (stress and urgency), functional disorders of the bladder, pelvic organ prolapse, and various structural anomalies and sexual disorders in women. © 2024 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
